This tour is unique to previous BelgiumKing beer tours, as this tour will be limited to 10 travelers allowing for a more intimate group and will also allow this group more adventures. As with past tours, this tour will also visit many world-renowned breweries as well as focusing on the 5 Trappist monasteries in Belgium..
Jim Ritchhart, Belgium lover, Beer Writer, BJCP Judge and craft brewer will be the guide on an incredible journey to the Land of Beer – Belgium. Jim had been visiting Belgium every year (sometimes twice a year) for over 30 years (until Covid derailed this) and has developed friendships all over the country that has enabled him to create tours that others are just not able to duplicate.
This IS a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
The tour will feature many breweries that have been part of past tours and was developed based on past travelers input as to what their favorite breweries were. The 2026 Fall Trappist Tour will have us visiting 7 breweries, as well as all the Belgian Trappist monasteries. Please understand that Trappist monasteries are cloistered and do not allow visits of their grounds or breweries. Please contact me in regards to this. All 5 Belgian Trappist monasteries have off site cafes that serve all their beers and prepare foods with the beers, except for Rodenbach, but they have a local restaurant that does this. A couple of the brewery tours are not able to be publicized at the request of the brewery. The 7 breweries are all ‘World Class’ breweries that individually have multiple award winning beers. The list includes Fantome, Rodenbach, Van Steenberge, Deca, De Struise, and un-named ones.
During our stay in Bruges, it is also possible to visit De Halve Maan and Brewery Bourgogne des Flandres to sample their creations. We will have fantastic lunches at Orval, Chimay and Van Steenberge and we will also enjoy some great dishes AND excellent beer at De Heeren Van Liedekercke, the #1 rated beer restaurant in the world! We will also eat at In De Vrede across the street from St. Sixtus Abbey, home of Westvleteren and will also have meals at Trappisten Cafe (Westmalle), ‘l Ange Gardien (Orval), a Chimay cafe and La Gourmandise (Rochefort), a gourmet restaurant that prepares dishes with the Trappist Rochefort beers..
We will visit the towns of Rochefort and also Dinant, one of the most picturesque cities on the planet; West Vleteren (and we will visit In De Vrede, the cafe that serves the #1 beer on the planet – Westvleteren), Poperinge, Roeselare, Bruges, and Mechelen. We will visit three corners of the country and experience various geographic landscapes and some of the greatest architecture anywhere.
The tour price is $2695 PP/DO and is a Land Only Tour. (Single supplement is an additional $595) This price doesn’t include airfare. It includes transportation throughout the trip, entry into all the breweries, which will include a tasting of each breweries beers, four fantastic lunches at Westmalle, Orval, Chimay, Van Steenberge. ; AND lunch at De Heeren Van Liedekercke,and dinner at In De Vrede (Westvleteren) and La Gourmandise (Rochefort). All lodging for 8 nights and breakfast each morning. The price is based on 10 travelers. If the reservations fall below 10, there will be an up charge as all aspects of this tour is based on a minimum of 10 travelers.

For beer lovers, Belgium is undeniably the world’s beer paradise. No other place has such a diversity of beer styles, aromas, flavors and colors. In a country with such an impressive beer culture as Belgium, you can always find a beer for any taste: to enjoy with or without a meal, as an ingredient in preparing delicious dishes, to enjoy as a dessert drink, or simply to drink and enjoy with friends. For those that don’t particularly love beer, you will be missing out on a great treat; but Belgium as a country provides something for almost any taste.
